Are Car/Automobile Accessories a Negotiable Price anytime after a car purchase?
I bought a vehicle in March '09 (it's now October '09).
I am aware that items can be added at the time of the car's purchase at a discount or to sweeten the deal.
But I was wanting to purchase some accessories specific to the vehicle, so I am needing to purchase through a dealership's parts department.
Can their prices be haggled? Are the 'official' car accessories a fixed price at any dealership?
The simple answer is no. They could have talked them into it if you were interested in buying the car ...but not half a year later...Also, dealerships of the same brand usually sell OEM accessories for the same price - it's standardized. However, if you want to buy aftermarket accessories from them that's a whole other story. Generally they have huge markups at dealerships anyway. A lot of the aftermarket parts may be just as good if not better than OEM parts and cost the same or LESS than what dealerships ask for.
