Would someone with knowledge about the Radio Shack Pro 135 Scanner please answer some question?
Hello,
I bought a Radio Shack Pro 135 Handheld Scanner and am having some problems with it that the manual won't help me with. I found frequencies for my area online, some 6 digits and some 7 digits (which I just put in the first 6 since the scanner doesn't take more than 6 digits). I put 'stored' the frequencies in the scanner like it states to, but I still can't get anything at all. I have no clue what I am doing wrong. I know that the antenna works because I can get the weather station thing perfectly when I hit the weather button on the scanner. I just cannot get any of the frequencies I am putting in to work. Can someone please help me with what I am doing wrong? Maybe new batteries?
Two things here:
1. When you "stored" the frequency in the scanner, did it actually "store" in the scanner? If not, then there's the issue. I'll assume though that it did store or saved to the scanner and when you pull up the allocated "channel" that the stored frequency is showing up.
2. If the frequency has stored and you see the frequency you stored show up on the display, then there's no problem!
The ONLY time you'll ever hear anything on that freq. is when they're using it and other times it will be quiet, if it's squelched.
