Asus P5N-E temperature problems?
I built my new tower today, the specs are as follows (I'm on it now):
Asus P5N-E Sli Motherboard
2GB of ram Dual Channel installed (another 2GB not installed)
q6700 Quad Core processor
BFG 8800GT Video Card (Single)
Antec p182 case
The motherboard, according to Asus probe, is running hot. It's at 33' C. That seems acceptable to me, but the probe keeps complaining about this. The CPU and GPU temperatures are good (55' C on the GPU @ 27% fan speed, CPU is at 39' C).
Any input?
Also: the computer refuses to boot with 4GB of ram installed, it hangs on the BIOS screen. I updated to BIOS v703 and it still has this problem.
33 degrees C is acceptable, in fact that is rather low that is approx. 92 degrees F.
I think your RAM is causing the problem. I too run a Quad Core on an Asus board and had similar problems with 4 gig of RAM. I backed it down to 3 gig (2 one gigs and 2 five twelves) and the problems went away.
