what would be causing this problem?
I get this problem from time to time on my PC. The problem is, some times my internet will be connected but I can't connect to websites, no matter what I use (Firefox, Internet Explorer, and even a Weather Network program can't connect to the internet). I try running Diagnostics (Windows 7) and it says my internet connection is fine. When I start up Firefox it just loads and loads and doesn't do anything. I eventually restarted my computer and my internet is fine. I also have wireless on my MacBook Pro and it works all the time, even when the PC is having this problem. The thing is, the wireless is coming out of a separate router (an Ethernet cord that is connected to the original router-- or where the internet connected PC (wired) -- is connected into the wireless router because it's dual-band and is optimized for HD video streaming), which could explain why my wireless works.
Why would this problem occur?
I do have a Anti-Virus (BitDefender).
It may be that you're connected, but your internet access is restricted. Happens to me from time to time. Does the same stuff. Honestly, I don't know how to fix it
