Is it illegal to have a digital scale in your car?
is it illegal to have a hand scale or digital scale in california? i use to keep it in my car b.c i have chem lab and the only scales they have are those lame triple beam balances so digital scales are way faster and accurate. but my friend, who is crim justice major says that if a cop finds it i could be charged with intent of selling drugs or suspicion of drug sales or something. is this true? answers from cops would be best. but if you know what ur talking about plz answer too. thank you

A scale (along with things like little baggies) can all be registered as intent to sell but not by themselves.They have to be found with the drugs also or at least some paraphanalia such as some rolling papers or pipes.Although I wouldnt put it past the wrong cop in the wrong mood to go ahead and take someone into custody on the suspicion,and await a drug dog.But like it was said previously once you were cleared of having no drugs youd be let go immediately.
